Hi,
Last weekend in Finland we had Hankiralli ( Snowrally ) and there were 137
fine historic cars driving thru 12 special stages. The weather was fine
during the whole rally, sunny and daytime temperature was around -10
celsius, 5 stages we on daylight and 7 was in dark, temperature -20 celsius
and the first car arrived at 1 AM to finish.

Yes, nice roads but the floral clock has been stopped for the
winter. Anyway it ain't floral without any flowers!
Saturday was sunny and bright with occasional snow showers and tem
not above 0 degrees Celsius. One of the course cars was a 1955
standard Eight in full stage rally prep. Another was a prepped
Landrover freelander V6. Neither of them got to the finish of the
rally - the Standard 8 because of mechanicals and the Freelander
after it rolled into a ditch! That's going to be expensive!
The only other historics competing were a brace of Hillman Avengers,
but there were lots of Escort Mk2 s and, of course, at least 20
Subaru Imprezas. There were 106 starters but only about 68 finished,
so it was a tough day, but that's usually the case for the first
event of the new year, particularly when the roads are icy.
We kept warm prividing results at the Dingwall Auction Mart. They do
nice coffee and hot pies there too!
