Maybe this is a good time to start soliciting for information like the
experiences of Bob. For the last 7 years I've been documenting the Shell
4000 rally and I've pretty nearly accomplished what I had set out to do
with the project (see www.shell-4000-rally.org). Not that I'm looking for
more work, having just recently undertaken the restoration of a '54 Bolens
Ridemaster tractor, but the logical next thing is to document the OTHER
great Canadian rally, the Canadian Winter Rally. Logical because many of
the same players ran both and a lot of the work may already be done.
Like the 4000 project, I'm looking for photographs, results, entry lists,
route books, regs, magazine articles and stories to build the web site. I
personally do not want to collect the actual material, but I will buy what
I have to in order get access. I prefer the catch and release program
whereby material is sent to me, I scan it and send it back lickety-split.
Anybody have material squirreled away that I can borrow to get the project
started?
