Hi guys, sorry I missed tonight. I am headed out traveling early
tomorrow am and my wife needed some help with things around here..we
had maintenance guys come and help with some repairs and I wanted to be
here to help her get what she needed done. I felt bad in not being able
to go. It may sound silly to post this but I definitely look forward to
each Tuesday and Thursday, just learning as much as I can and working
with everyone. I hope you guys had a great class. I will make sure I
say stretched and come ready for Tuesday.

Looking forward to it. Take care and enjoy the weekend everyone.

Hi there-

James and Meghan were on WKYC TV's "Good Company" morning show yesterday!  They did some demonstrations, and even taught one host of the show to throw another host of the show.

I added some info about this (along with a link to the video-clip of the segment) on their Fenix page.  Look under Announcements for more info.

I'll follow-up this week with some "behind the scenes" pictures.

For the record, watching John bounce Jim Archer a foot off the ground on a shoulder throw last Thursday had to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time...

The best part is that even Jim was laughing on the way down from the first bounce.  :-)

Great throw John!  And Jim, you're made of steel.  Or kevlar.  Or rubber.  Or something.

(and sorry about the multiple sends on the previous tournament update...  I don't know what happened - I clicked 'send' once from the web-post and then it arrived 5 times.  This time I'm trying an email submission).

Yep... I confirmed with Jim and the tournament will be on April
21st, 10am at Hillcrest.

The date-move, however, is not something created by "The Pro-Dragon
Agenda". :-)

thanks Big Jay. I got out of the clinic at 3:47 and arrived home at 6:10. I immediately called the school, then went out and shoveled the driveway. my wife appreciated it. Then I came down here and hit the treadmill, pushups and situps.

I really missed tonight though. Tomorrow I will have to hit the bag in the garage to make up for it. I will see you Thursday night.

If it makes you feel better, I skipped out too. It's an hour when the
weather is good... it took me 2.5hours to get home tonight. Would have
loved to train, but glad I chose to head home.

Thanks. I have found a ton of useful info on rosstraining.com in terms of working out for the boxer/martial artist. The forums are easily navigatable and everyone is friendly and helpful. I also enjoy irontrybe.com and for variety in workouts at crossfit.com.

Hi there-

This is a 100/100 club reminder!

It's a tradition at Hillcrest to do 100 pushups and 100 situps every
day from January 1st to March 31st to get the new year going! This
also helps from accumulating too much blubber if you happen to live in
a cold-weather climate, such as Cleveland right now (it's about 5
degrees farenheight outside).

Of course, if you're *already* doing 100/100, then double it. :-)

Hillcrest is proud to announce the first in a series of CD products:
Goshin Jujitsu Techniques, Volume 1.

This is effectively a "book on a CD, with video" and contains a medley
of techniques with frame-by-frame picture descriptions of techniques,
with video-clips.

The CD is available for purchase at the dojo, as well as through
Amazon.com

Last week Hillcrest was mentioned in Cleveland Scene's Best of Cleveland 2006 as "best place to train fo the UFC."  While flattering in many ways, Jim and James wanted to set a few things straight about this.

Hi there-

This is an overdue message from the Hillcres Jujitsu group. I'd like
to keep these coming on average about 1x a month with at least some
kind of training tips, but not so often that it's an email annoyance.

Hillcrest was mentioned last week in Cleveland Scene's "Best Places to
Train for the UFC" in the Best of Cleveland 2006 article. While
flattering, Jim and James put out a disclaimer last Friday to clarify
some things.

Here's a link to the email that was sent to Cleveland Scene....

Hello,
I remember Hilcrest ackademy from several seminars my Sensei gave back
in the late 80's.
I was recently looking for information about my teacher and I came
accross a picture on your site of my teacher Master Higuchi.
Does anyone know where he is now as I have lost touch with him.
I am getting back into the swing of things and will probably stop by
class at your Mayfield location as it looks like you guys are doing
good things there and it looks like a lot of fun. I miss a regular
work out like i used to get at the old dojo.
I found out that Gary Mason is teaching Jusjitsu at several locations
now but have been unable to get in touch with him.
Thanks,
Mike
