Yes, I remember competing against him last year at the all African
Games where he jumped 2.27, He trains with this german coach who has
helped him develop as an elite high jumper. he jumped 2.30m at the
african champs in 06, and he was also in osaka where he finished 9th i
think, so he has been around but he is just not consistent enough. I
used to have chopping short steps like that before my current coach
corrected it, and i feel better converting the force to vertical now
But yeeah it seems to be working for him, because he brings in lots of
speed.
