Every athlete 'goes back to square one' each year in the sense that they have to rebuild and hopefully improve the fitness that is lost as as the season progresses. You cant train hard AND compete. You train and THEN compete.
Build drills into your programme to develop the components of your technique

Do a web search under 'periodisation of training'

> How do I minimize loss of performance between this season and next?
Try to increase the quality of the oqrk you do - run faster - bound further and higher - more explosive weights - Keep a training log so that you can see how much you are improving

At least 3 weeks

A lot depends on your training regime but around 6 weeks is a good figure

Back to back jump sessions - experiment by doing a jump session either the day before or after a competition. The key to the second day success is more mental than physical

You need  to get access to a pit so that you can jump more regularly in training and plan your programme timing back from where it will end - again search periodisation

A repetitive problem like that may have to do more with the way you jump than the shoes on your feet although I would never recommend a new balance jump shoe to an athlete
