Back in my day I was a steady short approach advocate. I felt it was a good way to emphasize the last 3 steps for "lift-off" At 5'9" I was able to 3 step 6'6"...

At this point in the season I'm using 4 step and 6 step approaches. My jumpers don't get to use anything longer than that until April 1st and I don't work with...

Michael, I've used a short approach in practice as well as a way of concentrating on a particular aspect of my jump. But here is the rub: With a short approach...
