Firstly, you really need to try and identify how you came to be
suffering from this affliction. What are you doing in your
training that might have specifically contributed to it? Are you
landing on your plant? Are you running sprints too fast on tight
turns? (That's how I got it back in the '80's). Are you doing
something wrong with your plyometric training that has you focusing the
force in that area?
With aggressive physical therapy you can actually recover from this
quite quickly. I'm talking about 2-3 sessions with the right
physiotherapist applying the correct, state of the art
techniques. The long term problem could potentially lie in you
not altering your training and this condition becoming chronic.
So, search your brain to figure out how this happened so you can
make the necessary adjustments. A little self-reflection can help
ensure that you don't suffer from this condition again.
