Moroccan shotmaker Hicham Arazi blunted Max Mirnyi's serving power to
advance to the quarterfinals of the Samsung Open in Nottingham
Wednesday. Arazi improved to 11-10 on the year and reached his third
quarterfinal of the season with a 7-6(4), 6-2 win. Earlier, Greg
Rusedksi moved to 4-1 on the grass season with a 6-4, 6-1 win over
Olivier Rochus to reach the quarterfinals.

In the countdown to Wimbledon, which begins Monday, Lleyton Hewitt
was spared a potential second-round meeting with 1996 champion
Richard Krajicek when the Dutchman announced his withdrawal Tuesday.
Hewitt is now drawn to play qualifiers in the first and second rounds
