News: October 29, 2004 - Rumor Confirmation. Back on September 2 we posted a
rumor
that UK, South Carolina and an un-named team will join C-USA in 2005 for soccer.
Well,
that rumor has come to light..."The Florida International University menŐs
soccer team will
join Conference USA as an affiliate member beginning with the 2005 season
announced
Athletic Director Rick Mello today. The conference's Board of Directors voted
unanimously
to invite FIU, Kentucky and South Carolina to join current members East
Carolina, Memphis
and UAB, as well as programs from incoming members Marshall, SMU, Tulsa and UCF.
The
teams will play a nine-match round-robin schedule."
