Herb Sweet has been involved in Albany area tennis since 1983. During this time he has been an accomplished tennis player. He has won six singles titles as well as four doubles titles. He also has captained many teamtennis teams. His single biggest accomplishment was winning the Albany Tennis Club Labor Day 3.5 tournament in 1990. In that event he won his first 30 games played and lost only five games in the entire tournament.
He saved his best for last by beating local tennis great Tom Bain 6-3 6-1 in the final.

He has also been an excellent tennis administrator overseeing more than
20,000 ladder matches as well as directing over 200 tennis tournaments.


Herb Sweet's Tri-County Tennis men's ladder offers Albany area tennis players opportunities to play matches at their convenience. You play as often as you want and there are no long term commitments. It has been operating for over 20 years and currently has over 150 members.
Players of all levels of ability are welcome to join.

During the fall/winter season the ladder operates out of the Tri-City
Fitness facility in Latham. The fall/winter season offers both singles
and doubles at discounted rates. Monday night doubles is an exceptionally big event with anywhere from six to nine matches taking place simultaneously.
