My sons and I will be going to camp at the beginning of August so I
won't be able to join you for the camp this year. Next year, I
should be back.
It's been a very good winter for hockey (I can hear Steve saying
that). My adult team won our league championship 3 years after I
founded it -- very satisfying because we all played together. Then
I played in a company tournament in Frankfurt, Germany where our
team of 7 players (who had never played together) defeated 5 other
teams in 4 rounds. This was also a full checking tournament where I
learned that it is indeed better to give (a check) than to receive
one. The refs called about 2 penalties per game, turning a blind
eye to the rest.
The Germans know how to do these things right - we had 40
cheerleaders, a tunnel to skate through to enter the ice,
announcers, entertainment, etc.
Last but not least, my Peewee son's team won their championship.
