I feel very fortunate to have met George and sad to hear he is gone.
George added so much life to our group. His thoughts during classroom
were priceless. George had a big heart and a spirit that never quit.
Although
George was bruised and battered from the game of hockey he could be seen
having a few beers and singing Karaoke at the Slap Shot. He will be missed.
I look forward to seeing you all in Florida.

>Greetings to all 2004 campers,

>I am writing to you all today with the very sad news
>that George Ludcke, a fellow week 1 camper, passed
>away last night. I was told he collapsed during the
>game (hockey, of course) he was playing in. There
>wasn't enough time to get him to the hospital to save
>him.

>For any campers out there that were fortunate enough
>to get to know George during the first adult week of
>camp like I was, you know George was a truly great
>person. George had a warmth and personality that were
>unlike any other. I will always remember the banter
>that George, Jim and Eddie offered up to relieve
>classroom sessions. He always had a smile on his face
>even though he was skating on a bad ankle, always
>craved better food that could be found at camp, had
>pulled his groin, had been convinced to go swimming at
>midnight, and had a very uncomfortable bed to look
>forward to that night. Still, he was out there
>Saturday morning playing in the scrimmage.

>I will always cherish the time I was able to spend

>I will miss no longer being able to skate with George.
> I know he was planning on attending the Ft. Meyers

>skate together as a memorial to him. I think that
>would bring a big smile to his face.
>
>I will keep everyone posted about funeral/memorial
>service information. I am going to try to attend and
>would love to see some fellow campers there.
