Hello everyone,

After an extensive search of many Internet resources, we decided to ski at
Pine Mountain Touring Center in Hartland on Saturday. If you didn't go there
on Sunday, you may have missed it - perhaps forever. Yes, people, they had
their season opening and closing all in one weekend.

For an hour's drive from New Milford, Pine Mountain had good snow with pretty
good grooming (no Piston Bully, but a couple of enthusiastic kids pulling a
track setter with a snowmobile). This is an old-timey operation with a barn
for the "lodge" and almost no amenities (the restroom is unisex). Even the
double-track trails are narrow so there is no skating, and we did not see a
single stich of lycra!
