I'll be leading two trips this winter, Craftsbury, and Highland Center. Craftsbury is in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, and Highland Center is in Crawford Notch, New Hampshire. Skiing is primo in both places. Craftsbury fills very quickly, and the Highland trip only has 12 spaces. We'll be taking checks for Craftsbury on Sept. 1, and Highland on Oct. 1. Thur- Sun. February 24-27, 2005. Highland Center Cross Country and Snow Shoeing Weekend. Cross country ski on the world class groomed trails at Bretton Woods. Trails now connect with the new AMC facility in Crawford Notch, NH. Leaders will lead intermediate/advanced level cross country skiing and maybe a half-day snow shoe. Lessons and rentals available.Backcountry skiing, show shoeing, and downhill skiing also possible on your own. Or sit by the fire in the beautiful new lodge. Guided trips from the lodge also available. Cost of $235 (non-refundable unless replacement is found) includes dorm style rooms with shared baths, two family style meals, and one social hour. **** Notes on Highland Trip -- 1)We plan to go up the lift and X-country ski down the other side of the mountain at Bretton Woods. 2) If you do not want to stay in the bunks, then you can try to reserve a regular room- double beds, private bath etc, on your own. Family style rooms are also available with extra beds and private bath. I STRONGLY recommend that you reserve early. Just let Jim or I know you'll be there, and we will send you all the info so that you can join us for meals, skiing, etc. 3) There are also discount cross country and downhill tickets for Bretton Woods available at Highland Center. 4) If you are not an avanced/ intermediate skier, you are welcome, but you'll have to entertain yourself or find someone else on the trip to ski with.
