The skiing was surprisingly good yesterday, considering there was pretty
heavy rain from about 3 to 6pm on Saturday. I started skiing somewhat
crusty snow at Woodford State Park shortly before 9. By 10 there was a
moderate snow fall and conditions improved all day long. The backcountry
trail to Prospect Mtn. leaves the campground at site #64. It's a nice ski,
be aware that the trail improves after the first half mile and joins what
looks like an abandoned fire road. Skies were sunny as close by as
Jacksonville, VT - that plateau can't be beat for southern Vermont skiing.
Paula, 18" of powder at Prospect on Saturday? Where were you skiing? I
think I encountered about 4-5" on the Mountain Trail.
