Urgent: Deployments have sapped Ski for Light volunteer pool
Most of you know what Ski for Light is. Those unaware read this
blurb or check out the website www.bhskiforlight.org
Ski for light is an organization dedicated to structured outdoor
activities for people with disabilities. Friendships made at Ski
for Light last a lifetime. 3 1/2 days of skiing and social
activities every night. Starts Jan 25 at Deer Mountain, South
Dakota with lodging provided by the Franklin Motel in Deadwood.
2004 is the 25th anniversary event and our largest ever.
Why am I mailing you? More than 125 disabled participants are
signed up this year but only 60 guides and volunteers. It's time
for the non-military volunteers to step up and do good in this
world. Email or call me at 341-3940 or 343-7234 or call directly to
the SFL office at 341-3626.
Please forward this message to any downhill or x-country skiers you
know. Please don't delay, this event is tremendously important to
the people that participate, often the only time they get out of
their disability enforced shells.
Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to help provide a
skiing experience so profound as to either fill a life with enough
joy to last till next year or actually (and it wouldn't be the first
time) explode that shell, breaking someone out and into the world.
Seem daunting? Than you need to attend Ski for Light to awaken your
own blinding Light.
Thanks for spreading the word,
Brad Morgan
PS: I apologize for spamming you.
