Some of you may not know but we have an email list service devoted to
passing along information related to Winter activities, such as cross-
country skiing, ice skating, hiking, and downhill skiing. The list
has been especially useful for scheduling impromptu local cross-
country ski outings when we're fortunate enough to get a nice dump of
the white stuff. This list service has added flexibility and extra
enjoyment to our winter season, but you have to subscribe to take
advantage of it.

You can subscribe in one of two ways. The recommended way is to go
to the following web address:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hcc-ski/join
Once there, the box on the right side of the page will prompt
existing Yahoo!users to sign in. Existing Yahoo! users who sign in
will be taken to the HCC-SKI group and (I think) presented with a
rather prominent button that says "Join This Group!". Click on it. If
you are new to Yahoo! click on the "Sign up Now" link on the left
side of the page, to become a Yahoo! user. You cannot participate
fully in any Yahoo! group or service (including but not limited to
HCC-SKI) unless you are a member of Yahoo!

Another way to join the group is to just send an email (no message or
subject needed) to: hcc-ski@yahoogroups.com. This makes you a
member of the hcc-ski list but does not work if you are not already a
Yahoo! member.

To post a message to the list you just need to send your message via
email to hcc-ski@yahoogroups.com. Your message will then be sent to
everybody else who has subscribed to the list (including yourself).
We hope this will make for a rich and fun-filled skiing season!

If you're already a member of this list, just regard this message as
a reminder to USE it this year because the more HCC skiers out there
the merrier.
