PLEASE FORWARD this on to as many Bethel residents as possible.
Are you all aware of the 129 unit condo complex proposed
at 77-79 Reservoir Street?
The Toll Brothers want to develop a densely packed complex
in a small area on Reservoir Street in Bethel.
They may very well succeed by playing the Affordable Housing card.
39 of the units are proposed as affordable.
We need everyone’s support and immediate action through and EMail,
letter and/or fax to the representatives, officials and offices below.
Please attend a Wetlands meeting at 7:30 Monday, June 2nd
and
Planning and Zoning meeting at 7:00pm on Monday, June 9th
Reservoir Street is an already extremely congested and dangerous.
This should add another 250+ cars and service vehicles speeding back
and forth on a daily basis not to mention holidays and special days for
the various residents.
Reservoir Street is already very dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists
much less motorists. Accidents have almost quintupled in five years.
I've seen the drawings and plans at the Planning and Zoning office.
There are numerous letters of complaint from all the local residents.
There will be a considerable impact to wetlands located on the
property and adjacent lands, which will in turn impact wildlife in the area.
This complex will drive up our taxes and have a negative impact on
on local education in regards to class sizes and crowded buses.
If Toll Brothers wishes to develop this property they should do it responsibly
and not at everyone else’s expense. A development like this will
seriously directly and indirectly impact the quality of life for all
of the families and residents in Bethel.
Please contact your local, state and town representatives immediately
and tell them how you feel about this development.
Here's their contact information below.
