I feel sorry for some of the guys selling Monzas on Ebay. They are
trying to get their money back out of cars they have restored or
modified. I have a friend who sold two very nice certified drag cars
for way less than he had invested in them. Problem is, not many people
are willing to pay top dollar for private restorations or modifieds.
Many people also know that v8 monzas break at the shock tower and rust
heavily in unseen places. I owned one that broke at the shock tower.
Even though I made sure the suspension and frame were square and
straight, it just wasn't the same after the repair. I love my Monza's,
but even I understand their value is limited by the reputation the
cars got while in production. I am kind of glad because the fact that
few people like h-body's is part of the attraction for me. I have
always been a sucker for runts and underdogs. If everybody started
collecting and driving monzas, I don't think I would want mine
anymore. Kind of childish, but true!
