Aloha All
A big Mahalo to everyone who wrote in to the city council or made the
trip down to Honolulu Hale to opose the resolution for an
Environmental Impact Statement for the Young St. Bikeway project.
This was a long contentious meeting that had us spending most of our
time countering falsehoods and misinformation put forth by members of
the Young St. Coalition.
Towards the end of the session it seems that several members of the
committee became aware of some of the shenanigans going on and the
session ended with some rather tough questioning of the coalitions
spokespeople.
In the end the committee moved to hold it over until 7/14 for a vote
by the full council. In the meantime DTS, the Mayor's Advisory
Committee and the Young St. Coalition have agreed to meet one more
time with the purpose of coming to an agreement that would make the
vote on 7/14 unnecessary.
I will let you know what the outcome of this meeting is, and if any
further action is needed. Once again, thank you very much to all that
got involved.
Sincerely,
Charles Rosa-Coleman
