I've seen them around, too. They look like they are comfortable to
ride on flat ground, but I doubt if they'd be any good trying to
climb even a small hill.
They seemed to be very popular at first glance for some buyers, since
they do look nice. But, I noticed a number of them for sale on
Craigslist. So, it seems that they weren't the type of bike you'd
want to hold onto for very long.
I heard a rumor that Bell had sold-off his remaining choppers on
Craigslist, after his business went belly-up. He probably sold them
at a loss, due to the weather damage and vandalism most had suffered.
You know, it didn't take a brain surgeon to figure-out that
Adchoppers was a doomed venture from the beginning. When I see one of
those Schwinn Stingrays being ridden by the downtown streetlife, I
just have to smile and know that at least somebody was glad those
bikes were left unattended 24/7 in Downtown and Waikiki.
