Aloha HBL members,
HBL needs your help in promoting bicycling as an important transportation
alternative for our city. Now is the time to make your voices heard by
testifying and/or sending in your testimony concerning bicycling and
pedestrian issues in Honolulu at the following upcoming meetings;
*The Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project
**Proposal to the Charter Commission for making Honolulu a bike-friendly
city
*The Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project is studying how to
improve the ability of people to move in the highly congested east-west
corridor between Kapolei and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It is now
your opportunity to comment on the project purpose and need, the
alternatives, and the range of issues that will be considered during the
alternatives analysis and preparation of the draft EIS.

**There is a new proposal to the Charter Commission for making Honolulu a
bike-friendly city. If passed, it would become part of the City Charter and
in effect, become a guideline for planning all city projects in the future.
The next public meeting of the Charter Commission will be held on Tuesday,
December 13, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Committee Room on the second
floor of Honolulu Hale.
