Re: Final Update -- Reisman Appearance on Letterman Show

Jack,

I,too, felt shortchanged by Marty's super-brief appearance on the
Letterman program, even though I knew ahead of time -- and related
that to members of our Hardbat group -- that that was all the
Letterman people wanted of him. I gathered that Marty, himself, was
quite content with the gig, however.

Myself, I don't think that these late night TV programs are interested
in showcasing septugenarians such as Marty, nor do I think they would
do a decent job of doing so, even if they had the interest. I think
their idea of entertainment really deals more with teasing and
tantalizing the 18-35 year-old demographic, and promoting movies,
concerts, books and music to people of that age-group.

Fortunately, Reisman has many things in the works -- a new book to
follow-up on a documentary-short about him that was recently made --
and any number of other projects, exhibitions, instructional videos as
well as challenge-matches which he is being offered. Hopefully, in
this fashion, sometime soon, we will be able to enjoy more of what
Marty has to offer through these vehicles.

Just a suggestion for the next time to make it a little more dramatic. Have the TV host put a lighted cigarette in his lips and crouch behind the table so...

I agree with your assessment of the focus of the David Letterman Show but what a fiasco for that show. He is out of touch (or at least his producers are)...
