I know about Westfield. I'm sure it's great, but it's a little too far. I may wind up joining simply to get a consistent place to play, but something more local would be a lot more convenient.
If I ever go to Santa Monica, CA, I'll want to look you up for a game!
My paddle remains poised at a salient angle!
Take care,
Jeff

Dear Wpufo,
One of the (noticeable, outstanding , important)* features of the Classic game is that
is that it has spectator appeal.

Westfield, NJ, is the home of the New Jersey Table Tennis Club, which is great. Phone number 908 232 9659 (good 2004!).
I took Ms. Lily Yip's table tennis clinic in July 2004. She's a great coach and really sweet.
If you make it out to Santa Monica, CA, and want to play, give me a call.
Best wishes,

I'm a 56 year old man who has recently started playing table tennis
again after a 40 year "break." I'm using a hardbat purchased from
Paddle Palace. (I recently bought a Prince sponge at a local store,
but I am having difficulty controlling the ball with sponge.) I live
in Passaic County, NJ and don't have a place to play other than at a
friend's/co-worker's house and we don't get together that often.
(We're both married and working full-time so that affects how often
each of us can play.) There is a table tennis table at a pool room in
Clifton, NJ on Route 46 where it costs $6/hour to play. That would be
better than nothing, but the table and the room are nothing to get
excited about.
I think I'm a decent (not great) player with an aggressive topspin style
and I'd like to improve my game.
