Many of the San Francisco Table Tennis Club members have been using a
secret training technique to sharpen our vision to better see a
spinning table tennis ball; we have been playing in semi-darkness for
the past several months. This technique is similar to training at a
high altitude to expand lung capasity.

This aspect of our training is coming to an end.
Our vision is now very acute and we don't believe that it can get
much sharper so we have decided to turn up the lights.

We have installed one new flourescent light (as a test case)to see if
this particular light would work in our environment. Because of the
test light's great success, nine more have been ordered and will be
installed beginning Friday, February 18th. Complete installation may
take a couple of weeks.

So, all those players who chose not to participate in the vision
enhancement training will be pleased to know that they will be able
to return to the SF Club and actually see their opponent *and* the
ball they are trying to hit.

Of course, they will be at a great disadvantage when
playing those who have completed this specialized training.
