Class started as usual with 2 mile run and 3 rounds of jumprope.
Everyone partnered up and the class was split half doing bagwork and
the other half doing conditioning drills. Bagwork started with jabs and
progressed adding 1 more punch each round, till we sparred with the
bag. Each side did 6 rounds then switched. After everyone completed all
the exercises, we continued with partners working defensive drills.
First round was jab, and catching the jab. For this the person throwing
the jab was also asked to practise punching from different angles to
make the defensive person experience an actual fight simulation. One
person went one round then the next round the other person went. We
also did catch the jab and perry the immediate cross, where the
fighters were asked to pick up the pace and look for angles after
perrying. For the last set we did duck the lead hook, hook to the body
followed by the reverse cross. Next we moved to the bags and did some
partner endurance drills, finishing bag work with a 5 minute slide
around the bags with punch outs mixed in. Class was completed with ab-
work.
