Rob taught class tonight with our focus on kicking using the proper
technique. After a warm up and 2 mile run we took time to practice
shadow boxing with the front kick then did a round of it on the bag. We
did this again for the roundhouse kick and the axe kick. For the last
part of class we stayed on the bags and mixed up different combos for
each round: 1 round 4 punch combo and kick, 1 round kick 2 punch kick,
left side only kicks and punches, right side only kicks and punches,
and kick left, punch right, kick right punch left. We also did jumping
jacks, mount climbers and 8 count push-ups between rounds. We finished
with 5 minutes of punching focusing on power, and slide drills. Very
exhausting class, though we all felt we had a better understanding of
how to use our kicks properly for fighting.
