Steve,
Tires is a good question. I Have a question for you. What is the width of your
tire? Hopefully it is at least 23mm as you go smaller you reduce the footprint.
There are many tires to choose from. I would recommend a tire for the type of
riding you do be at least 23mm and have some type of tread pattern. Smooth and
narrow tires are great as long as you ride hard surfaces as they offer less
rolling resistance. A 23mm will give you a better ride and in most cases less
prone to punctures.
Google your tire size and reserch what is avaliable. I have tested a number of
tires and it comes down to personal choice. If you can afford them TUFO's are
great, as well as Conti's, they are a bit less expensive. I feel most tires are
greatly over priced as you can buy somen auto tires for less than a quality bike
tire. It is a balancing act of what is most durable and what your budget is.
Most quality bike shops carry tires that will fit you handcycle and you will
probably get a better price than med suppliers.

Hi All,
What are your thoughts on tires?
On my excelerator, I currently have Panaracer Stradius Elite tires.
There are some steeper inclines on the bike trail, asphalt, that my
front tire is not gripping. My front tire simply spins.
What would be a good tire with a little more traction?
Are there sources on line for handcycle tire purchases?
Thanks
Steve
