Joel,
I plan to attend and race in the Omnium this year.
I have a couple of question.
#1 How do I obtain a license to race in a sancationed event. I have been
handcycling for about two years and I am training for competition as well as
century and touring events in Colorado.
#2 I am still uncertain what class I would race in. I have looked at the web
site and the calssification is a bit confusing. I was a USCF official for 5
years at ablebodied road races, crits, and time tirals but adaptive racing is
new to me. I and 56 and have Post-polio syndrome, small fiber periferal
neuropathy and Neurofiber Mytosis. Can you help?
If you can call my number is 303-485-0325.
Thanks, Mark Drake

This event is well run, I have been lucky enough to participated in this
event 3 times with much enjoyment. For any one thinking on doing it I
whole hardly advise to do it.
Now the constructive criticism. Any thoughts of making the championship
latter in the summer so 70% of the population can get out on the roads with
a little training under there belts.
Thanks
"Joel"

The largest integrated cycling race in the US just got better. We
have contracted to produce a one hour TV show, to be aired nationally
on Altitude Network (Premier June 18). The production will feature
the USHF National Handcycle Championship and the sport of
handcycling, and will have several features on disabled athletes,
including segments on the clinics and training elements of the event.
All we need to make this an award winner is RIDERS! This will offer
huge exposure for the sport and hopefully show other event promoters
the power of our group. Not to mention, we have added several social
events this year that should make for a fun-filled Memorial Day
weekend.
We are expecting participants from other countries, including a group
from Japan.
There will again be a Citizens Class, to include riders of all
levels. This group had 10 riders in 2004. Scenic, recreational group
rides will also take place on Friday and Saturday.
Check out the Adaptive Adventures website for more details:

See you in Colorado...
