Re: More Handcycle Races!

You know, at this point I believe why bother.....At the indianapolis stage race
series, which
by the way had stipends and prize money...although not huge bucks, saw only 3
HANDCYCLISTS!!! and one that came down after biking in a wheelchair race....
It seems we are more concerned about ruining wheelchair races than developing
HandCycle races......MORE CONFUSION TO THE PUBLIC, LESS CREDIT TO THE SPORT, A
DOUBLE STANDARD IN CONCERN TO ABLE BODIED CYCLISTS.....AND THE FACT THAT IT IS
BECOMMING THE HANDICAPPED RACE RATHER THAN A WHEELCHAIR RACE OR HANDCYCLE
RACE!!!
I WAS SOOOO DISAPPOINTED...WELL TO THE PUBLIC WE ARE SAYING...."HOW
ENCOURAGING, THEIR SO STRONG, SOOOO INSPIRING!!!"
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS BUT I TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY AS A SPORT AND WANT IT
TO BE THAT WAY, WHETHER FOR RECREATION OR COMPETITION.....BUT I GUESS LETS JUST
BRING ON THE CRIPPLES.....
WAY TO GO!! BE STRONG! DON'T GIVE UP!
no offense at all to Ian, the guys that came, and those who agree that bikes
belong with
bikes. thanks guys
CJ

not go to the
Tour de Nez later this month !? The prize purse is over $6,000 for handcycles
and the
promoters are doing it up right for this year --- they want to grow the race for
handcyclists each and every year.

just learned
that they will include all three disciplines: Time Trial, Road Race, and
Criterium.
