Hey guys -

We're down to the last month of bowling, with the last night being Tuesday, April 29 (five weeks away).    The annual awards banquet is set for Saturday, May 31, in the outdoor pavillion at the  Summit View, 555 Northampton Street (Rt.5), Holyoke.   Save the date!  More details on the party will be sent later this month.

Each week, we need 6 or 7 subs, sometimes more.  If you're on the sub list - please come bowl with us!   We start at 6:30 every  Tuesday at Spare Times on Pleasant Street, Northampton.    You can either just show up at the bowling alley, or you can guarantee to get your name on the sub list by calling me at Pride & Joy at 413-585-0683.   Feel free to leave a message on the machine if the store is closed.    Its an easy way to make new friends and have a great time!

If you're a "regular bowler" on a team, please ask a friend to come bowl and be a sub.   We have a contract with the bowling alley that obligates us to pay for 64 guys each week.  We currently have 4 openings on the league from players who had to drop mid-season.   If we aren't able to get a sub for these spots, we loose the $13 for each player from our "party fund" to pay the bowling alley.   This has happend a lot this year.   What this means is that we may need to charge extra for tickets to the awards banquet.    Hopefully we can avoid this!

Meanwhile, if you can't make it bowling, please try to find your own sub by calling someone from the sub list rather than just posting a message here.   To get the list, click on "visit your group" on the top right of this screen, sign into Yahoo, then click on "database" on the left side of the screen.    Also, if you know well in advance that you need a sub, you can ask a sub in person on a Tuesday night at the alley.   Remember to tell your teammates if you get a  sub so they can be on the lookout for him that night.   Finally, you can always "pre-bowl" at the alley for any week you can't make it.
