Thanks, Xela, for the tip about the article about the
Ruger 96/44M lever action rifle. Looks like it might
work just fine for knocking over the occasional black
bear if we ever have the misfortune of getting between
a sow and her cubs or accidentally do something that
makes one of the bruins think it is being challenged.
Now I just need to get this house sold in Salt Lake
City so I can move our stuff to Michigan, get out in
the woods and see whether we can find any Zombies.
