Mark K. Benenson was successively general secretary,
chairman, vice-chairman of, and counsel to, the United
States brance of Amnesty International, 1966-1980. The
organization won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1977.
Looks like he wrote quite a bit for the NY Times (archived letters).

mention Amnesty International. Which sounds like they supported the right of
self defense back when the book was published in 1979.<br><br>Maybe about the
