Welcome to "Gulf Coast Volleyball", a resource for volleyball opportunities in the Gulf States and especially in New Orleans LA. Check out our Photo's page and the new Webshots page at the link below.

The Gulf Coast Volleyball Yahoo! Group is an eclectic mixture of over 150 people and growing. Members include some current and former players from area NAIA and NCAA universities, several USAV club coaches and numerous players from the Coconut Beach and Mid-City Volleyball Group (www.midcityvolleyball.org) outdoor leagues in New Orleans. There are a few members who currently live outside of New Orleans ranging from Lafayette LA to Fort Walton Beach FL, and there are roughly even numbers of men and women whose ages span at least three decades.

This group is dedicated to the exchange of volleyball information throughout New Orleans and the surrounding area, and members can easily post announcements about upcoming events. Check out the links to find college and high school volleyball schedules as well as information about beach and indoor leagues and tournaments in New Orleans and beyond.

When you "Join this group" you will get a follow up e-mail with instructions to confirm your membership. You can then return to the website in order to "Edit My Membership" with the choice of receiving e-mail messages in an "Individual" or "Daily Digest" format. If you want to receive an e-mail everytime someone posts a new message, choose "Individual". If you want to get no more than one e-mail per day with all of the messages in the past 24 hours, choose "Daily Digest".

This site is co-moderated by Lenny Vasbinder, Peter Hickman and Joey Scavo, and messages that do not relate to volleyball will be deleted! Please do not use the group for idle "chit-chat"; instead, limit your messages to those that may be of interest to the entire group.
