you'll want to line it up as close as possible , the driveshaft
conectors are somewhat forgiving so it don't have to be perfect . the
1100 is a nice tractor to start with you can always upgrade it to a
driveshaft & gear drive rearend , yours should have a right angle
gear box with a belt going to a 4 speed pearless rearend . the
material you're choosing for mounts sounds good .

Hi, I just bought an older 1100 cub cadet this last weekend for my
son to pull with. It came with a blown 11 hp briggs. I want to
install a k301s kohler engine. do I install it so it lines up with
the drive shaft, OR do I install the engine differently? Also I am
installing it with 2 pcs of 2" x 1/4 flat stock,,,Am I going in the
right direction? I am going to build wheelie bars and a adjustable
hitch myself with plans found on the net. We are thinking of pulling
in the Walworth County Fair in Elkhorn WI on Sunday before Labor Day.
Then in Marengo this fall if they are going to have the pull again
this year. Right now we are just getting started and are going to be
sorting things out so ANY and ALL help will be greatly appreciated by
me AND my 13 y/o son. Thx in advance. Rory and Brandon

I would consider starting with a different engine . the KT was not
very reliable in stock form & there are not any hi performance parts
available for them such as rods cranks ect. . it appears from
whatI've seen ovwer the years in twin cyl. flat heads you need more
cubes than the flat heads have . the PS/SS flat heads are at 50.5.
I'ld consider using the K582 twin if you want a flat head or check
the rules out with the club you pul with & look at one of the new OHV
twins . Lacota makes a fair amount of parts for these engines .
theres a link for them in the "bookmarks" in the sidebar to the left.
if you want to do traveling consider building a single . rules in the
pro stock class are very consitant from state to state & club to
club .

Some of you probably already know this but for
those that don't Yahoo is doing away with the Yahoo
clubs . From what I've been reading they will
autmaticaly switch all Yahoo clubs to the new Yahoo groups.
I'll keep you posted if there are any changes.

Thanks for opening this new site Don;it's
something that all of us here in WI needed. A reminder to
other pullers that this is a good place for all WI
based pullers to keep each other up to date on all of
the events, meetings etc. Also we will be able to swap
ideas and offer parts and stuff for sale (or wanted to
buy)
