Once again I'm looking to play some Double Disc Court with anyone who's willing
to learn a new disc sport and perhaps play regularly. We've had some occasional
DDC with the likes of Kevin, Keith, Brad, Joe, James, Dave Liu, Connor, etc.,
during winter and spring.
If you would like to play regularly or semi-regularly, e-mail me back or call me
at 366-3586. This is an equal opportunity invitation -- ladies welcome.
DDC is a 2-on-2 game played with two discs (smaller and lighter than Ultimate
lids) and is more throwing intensive than running intensive. Each team defends a
13-by-13 meter court from attacks by the other team, which is defending its own
court 17 meters away. Higher levels of the game require low, fast, upside-down
throws, as well as the ability tip the disc to avoid double-disc attacks from
the other team. Even though it's a small court, higher levels of play require
quick response-time, good hands and mobility.
Ideally, I would like to recruit about four to 10 players to play regularly
about once a week, weather permitting, through spring. Possible days/nights
would be Saturday morning, Monday evening or Wednesday evening. This doesn't
take as much space as Ultimate, which opens us up to some nicer venues beyond
Byrd Park.

Get in touch with me if you have any interest whatsoever, and I'll keep you on
my contact list.
Best wishes to you and yours,
Jack
