Hey everyone,
People keep asking me about starting women's ultimate back up again now tha=
t
league is over and I'm no longer hauling around a baby in my abdominal
cavity. Here's the deal, from my perspective:
*I go back to work on Monday and I won't have time to organize much ultimat=
e
stuff. Heck, I won't have time to feed myself properly, but that's my
problem. If we want to have a women's ultimate night, someone else should
suggest a time and place to get it started. I'll show up when I can. But i=
f
you want to play, be proactive--send out the email to get everyone together=
.
*I am willing to throw out this idea, though: Let's send a team to
Sectionals! It will be fun, and a good motivator for this fall and the
future. Sectionals is Sept 18-19 at Ft. Belvoir (same fields as Choptank,
just south of DC). I bet the women's tournament will just be one day. Even
if it's two days, we won't need to stay overnight.
We also don't have to worry about winning or anything silly like that. We'l=
l
just go out and play our best, have a good time, and maybe learn a few
things. We just need someone to step up and organize our roster, contact th=
e
tournament director and all that jazz. Any volunteers? See www.upa.org for=
details on what needs to be done. I will play, and I will captain the team
once we're at the fields, but I won't do any of the paperwork stuff. That's=
my deal.
Who's in? If we can get 10 women, we're good to go. Spread the word.
Susan
