Dear Friends,
Could you forward this message to anyone you know who might be able to
help find homes for 4 kittens.
Thanks for your help,
Aurora
To all those animal lovers out in cyberspace:
During the winter I took in two cats who belonged to the woman across the
street as they were being neglected---needless to say one of them was
pregnant. On March 5th Mama Cat delivered 4 healthy kittens--1 male and 3
females. They are now 8 weeks old, and I am trying desparately to find
homes for them. I have spayed both adult cats, and both of them have been
tested for feline leukemia and AIDS (negative) and innoculated: ergo , the
kittens have not been in contact with any cats who are not healthy. (This
includes my existing menagerie of healthy cats)
When the kittens were 4 weeks old the mother developed mastitis(infection of
the mammary gland). It was necessary to put the babies on formula for about
10 days while slowing introducing them to wet food as the mother could no
longer nurse. I allowed them to be with their mother under my supervision
because I feared they would suffer emotional trauma if separated
completely. After a week and a half of this vigilance, I gave up and let them
"go at" Mama and her teats(her milk had dried up, and she had finished the
course of antibiotics). Shortly after this Mama Cat went into heat( she was
inside so she has not been violated a second time)--proving again that if a
cat is not pregnant, lactating or spayed she will go into heat.
Another twist to the tale:
When the kittens were one week old I heard a yowling under the house
and discovered a bag of bones teenage male cat(since tested, neutered and
innoculated) in the crawl space where the furnace is located. You can only
imagine the fun when mama cat went into heat and I was waiting for teenage
boy's neutering certificate from Petfix coalition---oh the sounds that
emanated within my four walls!!
I would keep all of the kittens but I am maxed out at 16--I was holding
steady at 13 for several years until the latest three adults came along. If
anyone has room for a kitten or knows of someone who could give a good home
to one please contact me by phone at 804-737-4145 or by email at <A

lhooc@...</A>. I feel these kittens are very precious and special as
they were born on the same day that my parents passed away--- March 5,
1986 and March 5, 2001
Thank you for forwarding this along,
Aurora
