The other day, I got an e-mail from a kid named Erik Mazursky in high
school at Deep Run wanting to learn to play Ultimate. I tried to
dissuade him.



I wrote:

First of all, with a name like Mazursky you should be playing Football,
not a fairy sport like Frisbee. I can easily imagine a sports announcer
saying, "Oh, and another crushing hit by Mazursky. Erik 'Flat Top'
Mazursky is a steely eyed minister of death praying for war."



I then suggested he start a team at his school. He told me...

...some kids at my school tried to start a team, but the county said
that ultimate frisbee is a sport "for hippies and promotes drug use."



That is an unflattering generalization. It's like saying county
government is made up of myopic demagogues.







Anyway, is anyone coming out to Westover Hills this Sunday?
