MEETING OF THE MINDS
A Weapons Seminar
May 29-30 2004
Stan Schmidt Sensei, Michael Williams Sensei

In the spirit of 'Aikido without Boundaries, Goshinkan Dojo would like to
present a shared training experience with Guest Instructor, Stan Schmidt
Sensei, Chief Instructor of the Japan Karate Association of South Africa
and Michael Williams Sensei, Chief Instructor of Aikido Yuishinkai
International. This seminar will focus on weapons training. Both Karate
and Aikido utilise weapons as a vehicle for developing mind and body
coordination and serve as a common denominator between the two arts. All
martial artists welcome.

Stan Schmidt Sensei is the founder of the College of the Openhand, a forum
which encourages masters and experts of the various martial arts to
interact, share knowledge and be recognised for their contributions and
inspiration to current and future generations and practitioners. Williams
Sensei was a guest instructor at the inaugural Australian forum held in
Melbourne in 2003. A bond was formed between them and this upcoming
seminar is a result of that meeting of minds. Share the insights Stan
Schmidt Sensei has gained from over 40 years of karate training and his
vision to bring the presently fragmented world of the Martial Arts and
related disciplines into a unified position. He is a renowned author of
several books and instructional videos, and travels frequently on lecture
tours. A 'martial gentleman', he is a friendly and approachable man who
has many friends and admirers around the world

Michael Williams Sensei has trained in the art of Aikido for 30 years and
has dedicated his life to spreading the principles of mind and body
coordination and positive mind. He is currently the Chief Instructor of
Aikido Yuishinkai International and is the facilitator for the expansion of
Aikido Yuishinkai throughout the world. He founded Goshinkan Dojo in 1991,
and continues to teach on a daily basis. Williams Sensei has vast knowledge
of the aikido weapons and has travelled and trained with many renowned
experts of jo and bokken. He is an inspiration to many students around
Australia and throughout the world. His expressive teaching style reflects
his experience, humour and compassion. Williams Sensei will be accompanying
Maruyama Sensei on his 10 venue World Tour later this year culminating in
the National Aikido Yuishinkai Australia Seminar in September.
