3. On Line Member Directory 2008
In 2008 we are commencing a Member Directory on the Griffith Aikido website. We hope that this initiative will further promote the businesses of members within the club and, of course, promote Aikido into the community. To be eligible you must be a current financial member of Griffith Aikido or be a family member of a current financial member.
There is no cost to include your business details in the directory and we will create a link from your directory entry to the homepage of your business website. In return, we ask that you similarly link your website to the homepage of http://griffithaikido.com. This cross-link will broaden both your marketing reach and ours.
Our website griffithaikido.com has become a very powerful marketing tool for Aikido Yuishinkai. We currently receive over 50,000 hits a month which represents some 5,000 visits a month from about 2,000 unique visitors, so our message reaches a large audience with a general interest in martial arts.
Your directory entry should include your business name, contact name, business address, telephone number, email address and website address, together with the services offered. You should include your logo if you have one however your logo attachment should not exceed 50KB in size.
As many of you already know it is our 5 year goal to establish our own permanent, full time dojo which will operate 7 days a week. We set that goal 12 months ago. As yet, we have not commenced formal sponsorship or fundraising programs however, if you wish to consider Griffith Aikido in any of your business marketing initiatives or personal philanthropic goals we would be pleased to meet your needs if we can. Please contact Gary Weigh or any other member of the Committee.

4. Stock Take – Library Items
It’s stock-take time again. If those who have borrowed library books and Grading Syllabus DVDs could return them as soon as possible you would make a graying Treasurer very happy. Our financial year ended on 31 December so now I need to count books and DVDs so your assistance will be very much appreciated.
5. Aikikids News
With the closure of Logan dojo, Craig Ellis (who has been my offsider since the start, and who has been regularly teaching with me on Saturdays since the classes grew so large a couple of months ago), has been asked by Tony Neal Sensei to start an aikikids class of his own at Capalaba Dojo. Craig has been committed and consistent, happy to teach when needed and a big part of our success with the Saturday Nathan aikikids class. Griffith Aikido wishes him all the best with his own aikikids class, his other endeavors at Capalaba dojo and for the future. Thanks Craig.
The first aikikids class for 2008 will be Saturday 12th January. The aikikids class will move to a 9am to 10pm timeslot on Saturday, followed by the adult’s class which will start at 10.30am and finish at 12 noon. This will give each class its own identity and time and probably help with parking as well.

Message From Craig Ellis Sensei
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that I have trained
with or taught over the last few years. I have enjoyed my time with
Aikido and will miss many of you.
I am moving over to Capalaba Dojo and will be helping to start a children’s
class on Saturday mornings. I have been a regular attendee of the
and enjoyed my training on with Tonia then Tony. I have been given this opportunity
by Tony, I will enjoy being part of a new Children’s class and having more
young people learn about the Aikido.
