Hey all,
Last summer GU Aikido produced its first club newsletter called Kotodama. The first edition is available for you to download (pdf format) at http://brisbane.griffithaikido.com/thumbnails.php?album=8 on our GU Gallery site.
Kotodama means 'the belief, from ancient Japanese times, that beautiful words, correctly intoned, in and of themselves contained spiritual power.' (http://wrc.lingnet.org/japanvoc.htm).
The newsletter was intended to be released quarterly - it's now autumn and the next newsletter is due. As our former chief editor, interviewer and general newsletter-motivator has left the club, I would like to request members to fill the gaps so we can get the newsletter up and running again.
We need people who are interested in:
* writing articles (junior students, don't feel that you are excluded from this, there's plenty you can write)
* interviewing
* photography
* cartooning/drawing
* comedy
* hassling others for articles! ;-)
Please, I am one person, I can't do it all on my own! LOL
There is potential for the newsletter to evolve to a national Yuishinkai, or even an international Yuishinkai newsletter as there has been significant interest from our chief instructor, Sensei Michael Williams.
As our great SB Dojo co-ordinator says "It's not what the club can do for you, it's what you can do for the club". :-)
Go on....it's really rewarding.
Cheers,
Gabby
