Personal Safety Concepts TM - Self Defence Program Information
Our personal safety and self defence programs are designed specifically to
meet the needs of each group. Seminar and short course format is available.
We will teach how to overcome barriers to effective resistance and safety.
Explore myths and realities about assault. Share experiences and evolve an
understanding of how defending oneself relates to other areas of
self-growth and confidence.
Our seminars and courses are an effective alternative to the martial arts
training environment. Our approach emphasises simple and responsible
strategies, emphasising non-violent and non-combatitive solutions to
conflict and unsafe situations. As well as simple but effective physical
techniques, our seminars and courses include interactive group discussion on
issues such as safety and preventative information, strategies for managing
fear, gender issues, success stories and role play of various situations.
Topics covered in our program
€ Safety in the street, home, workplace and social situations.
€ Issues around personal safety for specific settings ie workplace.
€ Awareness, recognising early waring signs
€ Responding effectively to harassment, bullying and intimidating behaviour
€ Application of verbal skills
€ Issues and skills relating to the management of fear and anger
€ Developing assertiveness skills and confidence
€ Self defence and the law
€ Learn how to keep balance and break free if grabbed
€ Identify and learn how to hit vulnerable targets on the assailant when
needed.
€ Defences from the ground, against weapons and other dangerous situations.
Physical techniques are taught without an initial emphasis on hitting, but
on how to move away, break free and use of the voice etc. Striking
techniques are taught in a responsible manner for when a person finds
himself or herself in a dangerous situation with a larger / stronger person.
We emphasise the message that fighting is not self defence.
Hope to see you there,
Danny
