Adult womens indoor league starts on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Inline in Morristown, NJ. The league will run for 10 weeks on Saturday mornings. Games will be scheduled from 9am till 12pm. Games are 50 minutes long (two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime). Sign ups will be open soon at www.njfha.org.

The cost will be approximately $100 (not definite on cost as yet). Golden Eagles will be forming a team again. Last year the team did very well and had lots of fun and playing time. If you want to be on the team please email me so that I can let the organizer put you on our team. This is 6V6 - real indoors with boards. You will need an indoor stick.

Last year there were pickup games after the league and I believe they will do that again this year.

We have 2 already committed to the team (the team will consist of 10 - 11 players). Last year we had 10 and most weeks only 5-7 showed up so everyone got lots of playing time:

Hello everyone!

Hockey will be starting on Saturday, August 1st from 5-dark at The Watchung Field in Montclair. The field is on North Fullerton just off Watchung Avenue in Montclair. We will be playing every Saturday and Sunday from now through Thanksgiving.

Saturday, August 1st: 5-dark. Remaining Saturdays, 6:30-dark
Sunday, 12-1.

Upcoming Tournaments:
Labor Day Weekend: Islanders 7 Aside Mixed Tournament. Eagles will be entering a team. I need 8 men and 8 women for this tournament. We will be playing at DeWitt Clinton HS in the Bronx. The Big Apple was canceled this year. This is a replacement tournament.

Hockey Festival: Please let me know if you are interested in attending Hockey Festival in Palm Springs, CA over the long Thanksgiving Weekend. This is a fun tournament! Eagles usually takes 2-3 teams. A couple of years ago we actually had 4! You have not really experienced Festival until you soar with the Eagles!!!! Ariel will be sending out more information soon.

Practice and tournament season is here! Our first tournament is next Saturday, April 18 at Drew University. Please let me know if you want to play. I can always use a few more. Congratulations to the Golden Eagles Indoor women's team for winning last weekend at the Brooklyn All Stars International tournament in Maryland - this was the inaugural year for this tournament and next year will be bigger and better. This marked the end of Indoor hockey for this season.

It seems like the Golden Eagles like inaugural events in Maryland - this is the second one that they won. CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS!

Subject: Golden Eagles take Maryland Club Adult Championship

The Golden Eagles went to the 1st Annual Maryland Club Championship tournament on March 1st to play in the adult mixed division. This tournament had a showing of 70 teams in all divisions. We almost did not attend due to a shortage of players but were able to pick up a male and female from Maryland. The team won 2 games and tied one game in their pool to go to crossovers. Then they won in crossovers and played the "all boys" team which ended in a tie. Golden Eagles won in strokes to take the championship and the medals (Ariel was excited about that). This was Vikrums 3rd tournament and he has only been playing for about 2-3 years. He not only got a medal but scored some goals as well. Jeremy was also excited about winning a tournament - he now remembers what it is like to be on top.

We would like to say the tournament was excellent - run well and umpiring was very good. Thank you Tee and everyone else that was involved.

Can't wait till next year to maintain our title.

Indoor mixed pickup hockey is on for March 7th and 21st in NJ for those out of high school. Real indoors with boards and indoor goals.
Details:
1-3pm both dates and the cost is $15 per player. All players MUST be USFHA members in good standing with proof of membership. If you like Indoor Hockey, this is a great opportunity to play!

The Golden Eagles are entered in their last 2 Indoor tournaments for this season and we have some opening spots available. See below and if you want to commit and play with the team please email me as soon as you can.

1) Maryland Club Mixed Indoor Championship Tournament - March 1, 2009 (This coming Sunday) - games start about 2PM so no need for a hotel stay. Site - Champions Field House 40 Southlawn Court Rockville Maryland. This is about 3.5 hours from central NJ. Players will try and carpool. We are allowed 2 male players on the field at a time. So if any men want to play with us, you are more than welcome. Cost is $350 entry fee divided amongst the players (7 players = $50 and 8 players = $44). Those committed to date are:

2) Brooklyn All Star tournament - March 14 and 15th - the entry fee is $600 which would be $85 if we have 7 players and $75 if we have 8 players. Indoor mixed pickup hockey is here in NJ for those out of high school - starting this Saturday - January 31st. Real indoors with boards and indoor goals.

Details:

Saturdays from 1-3pm and the cost is $15 per player. All players MUST be USFHA members in good standing with proof of membership. If you like Indoor Hockey, this is a great opportunity to play!

I will send out an email if it is ever cancelled due to weather or other reasons - so check your email before going.
