Is this from an official? Or a guess? Still nothing on the website, although
it's going to be on there tomorrow.

Well, let me tell you all. Growing up we went on vacation to Callaway Gardens
in GA where FSU circus performed.
During the day they would teach everyone how to do "circus stuff" - high wire,
juggling, climbing that rope thing, how to land on the net from the catchers bar
AND you guessed it, the BIKE. I learned how to ride 5 on a bike. But of course
they had special bikes with the pegs on each side of the wheel (y'all probably
know the proper term). We did all sorts of stuff on the bike. We didn't do
hand springs off the bike or anything near as fancy as the video.

Much too dangerous, unless you have a group of cheerleaders who can practice it
to perfection. Even then, I don't believe GOBA would allow it for the potential
dangers to the performers and the audience.

Interesting, but where in Ashtabula would we be parking? I think the fairground
up there is in Jefferson and I cannot come up with any place else in town for
that many cars....

I second that. I won't be going on GOBA anymore though, fallen in love with
RAGBRAI...maybe some year I can do both! Or maybe if it decides to go near
Athens, I'll go. Been a long time since they've had a hilly ride. It'd be nice
to ride down there; it's beautiful.

Don,
I have important things to do after the ride, like EAT!!! In the 2008 ride, I
stayed at the Orrville YMCA, which was nice because you could get a decent
shower without standing in line. I also did a motel a couple of nights.

Also, timing is important. From noon to about 3, the lines are long. Actually, I
use the shower lines as a captive audience because I know that they can't walk
away when I talk to them. LOL. It is not like we have a lot of important stuff
to do after the ride.

We neither pitched our tent, nor stayed in a motel this past year. Every town
had at least gymnasium accommodations, and one had college dorm rooms. Mike

Mary Kay,
Showers? Dang, I have done 11 GOBAs and now I learn we are supposed to take
showers.
Seriously though, there are usually alternatives for showers like gyms or
