The weight limit is for your benefit. You will have to
load the bags on the truck each day.
When they say lawn chairs, they are probably referring
to the old rectangualr chairs...not the folding camp
chairs.
If you can fit it in the duffle bring it along.

No one weighs the bags, but you load your own stuff on the truck and
the first riders in un-load. If it really gets too heavy, bring two
more manageable bags.

If you can fit it in your bags without breaking it, you can bring it.
Lawn chairs specifically are the old aluminum frame and webbing things
that take up lots of space, would never fit in a bag and would get
broken anyway.

The folding "Quad" chair variety fit into duffels and are very
common. I wouldn't go without one myself.

Hey Dave,

I live in Piqua. We have rides from Tipp City/Troy and also a small, very
fast group that rides out of Minster. So we cover the roads in Miami,
Shelby, Clark and Champaign counties. If you want to come south, we have a
regular ride on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from March 1 through
Nov. 30. We also have a Time Trial series and two 100K challenge rides.

Had this forward from Bill Sharp, W8HI. Thought I would send it
along. Should this spread to Ohio it could put a damper on GOBA.
Let's help them out. I've already signed their petition and sent an
e-mail to the State Patrol Commander.

We need to nip this in the bud, before
it spreads to other states.

The Colorado State Patrol has added an alarming new policy banning the
biggest bicycle events in Colorado! Their new policy limits bicycle
and triathlon events to 2,500 riders, but this limit can be lowered at
any time putting every event at risk.

You are so right on the views! Even riding in the downpour that one day was
great!!! I'll take your word on the hills. Yeah, walking up is an option.
However, I'll just make sure that we train on some hilly terrain so we can RIDE
up the hill. I was amazed at an older gentleman this last time that was riding
a single speed bike and going up one hill, where I saw him, with little or no
effort. Then, there was an older lady that said "hi" as she breezed past us
going up another hill. That's my incentive to train, train, train. My daughter
and I are getting excited for June to come around now! We are also looking
forward to the evening entertainment. They had some good bands this year,
especially the rock band in Port Clinton, the Coco Beanos.

Paul <touringcyclist@...> wrote: Sandy,
Think of it this way. If the hill is too steep, you get off the
bike and walk. After that, it is a fun ride downhill. With flat
terrain, the winds never stop so you never get a break. Hills are
EASIER, and more scenic than mile after mile of flat farmland. The
2004 route was lovely, if not hilly. But,oh, the views!

Sandy,
Think of it this way.

How hilly is this route? This will be our second year riding with GOBA and we
liked the flat route. Heard some veterans say that it was a harder ride with
the headwinds and all, but am worried about the hills. Loved riding with GOBA
though. What a great group of people!

COP's GOBA site is delaying the announcement of the 2006 route until
Tuesday, due to "technical" problems with the website, they say. But
it was in the newspaper today.

awesome event. I have not riden in GOBA but also plan on riding a few

complete with support service, transportation to/from Iowa and yet to
be determined accomidations. We would love to hear from anyone who
might be interested in heading out west for this ride. If interested
please feel free to drop me an email at TonyMarucco@...
