I would have suggested the $5-6 for lunch stops and the $10 for dinner,
but $20 per day per person would be a starting place depending on how
much the kids tend to eat. I think the average bike tourist spends
about $25-40 per day.

Another thing to consider is if you and the kids drink the tap water
available at stops and overnights or want to spend on bottled water and
pop/gatorade.

I think church dinners tend to run under $10 and most GOBA resataurants
are in the fast food or family category - like Bob Evans.
