Welcome Paula. Always nice to have more folks taking an interest in
cycling and GOBA. GOBA is easily doable, if you're at least a little
self-reliant and ride enough, like at least a couple hundred miles, in
the months before it starts. The many repeat riders attest that it's
a lot of fun.
Buried in the registration page of COP's GOBA website is "The Way to
GOBA," everything you need to know about going on GOBA the first time.
It's at http://www.goba.com/about/waytogoba.htm
It's very useful information, except for the part that says to limit
your luggage to 5 pounds. I believe they meant to say 50 pounds.
It's surprising how little you really need. There's even a suggested
packing list at the end of the article.
Aside to website maintainers: this link should be included in the
"About GOBA" section. People who have not yet decided to go may not
look in the registration section.
