Paula,
I'm Jack and have been riding GOBA since '93 (missed '99). It is truly a
wonderful experience. I started on GOBA with my brother Don. The following
year we brought my niece, Jessica who was 8. The routes vary with some more
challenging years than others. There are many wonderful and plentiful
experiences to be had at GOBA.
As for tips, I would recommend not only wearing a helmet but wearing it
properly. I've seen many cyclists with there helmet hanging entirely too far to
the back of there head. I can honestly say that it's better to be the windshied
than the bug (kinda involuntarily experienced that). Another tip is to get some
type of mirror so that you can see traffic behind you (either on your helmet or
handlebars). Lastly, I would say to stay hydrated and always carry at least 2
water bottles.
I hope this helps. Drop me a line sometime if you'd like to chat. Take care.
ttfn, jack

Hello GOBA Group members!
Introducing myself. I`m a recreational bicyclist. Trying to get out
on my bike more. I mostly ride on the Tow Path or other bike/hike
trails. I`m thinking about possibly trying GOBA in 2007. Looking for
information/tips for first-timers/training tips, etc.
I`m looking 4-ward to getting acquainted with other group members.
