I've been riding for quite a long time. I use "HALT" . You can get it at any
bike shop. In my experience as soon as you spray them they stop dead in their
tracks and usually the next time you come by they even remember you and don't
come out.
Of course there are occasions that it doesn't work, but I haven't run into too
many of them.

Subject: [gobagroup] dogs & riding
Hello,
I just started riding last summer. My husband & I have been riding
the bike paths, but would also like to enjoy country roads. We live
outside Marysville and end up having to travel quite a distance to get
to a path. We'd like to ride around our own neighborhood once in a
while.
The only problem I have with riding on the country roads are dogs.
Just traveling via car, I've noticed there are many dogs that run out
from ditches, etc.
I'm not thrilled about having a dog chase me on a bike. I did enough
of that when I was a kid deliverying papers!
Any advice you can offer on how to stop these types of dogs?
Thanks.
